Mentoring Purpose-driven Leaders
Challenge: Business development skills are critical to driving a business forward, but they are often viewed through a tactical lens. Mentoring helps leaders connect “business development” to “people development”, in the context of the organization's purpose and values.
Example: The enterprise struggled with business development, and how it impacts culture. For too many people, pursuing new business meant long hours and personal sacrifice … disconnected from personal rewards. FM worked with the team to align the growth program with what stakeholders cared about most … career growth, and winning opportunities to do work that matters. FM enabled leaders to mentor others, in order to affect positive change across the organization.
Application: FM mentors, and coaches both individuals, and teams. This includes helping groups align on how growth serves their collective best interests, while also helping individuals understand their role, and how they impact outcomes. This work equips “growth mentors” to carry the lessons forward across the organization.
Results:

“The delicate balance of mentoring someone is not creating them in your own image, but giving them the opportunity to create themselves.” - Steven Spielberg
